Meet The Founders
Our Story
Luna Respite & Learning Center was founded by Christina Rodriguez, a Special Care Counsellor and proud mom, alongside her husband, Bruno Mendicino, a devoted father of three.
As a family, we understand how meaningful it is to feel supported, understood and connected. Together, we envisioned a welcoming community where families throughout Greater Montreal could find trustworthy support and services that make a genuine difference in everyday life.
We wanted Luna to be more than a service provider. We wanted to create a place where children feel understood, encouraged and celebrated for who they are—and where caregivers feel confident, connected and never alone.
At its heart, Luna is rooted in family, connection and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to feel understood and grow with confidence.
Meet Christina
My professional journey began in 2017 at a private Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy clinic in Montreal, where I provided intensive one-on-one intervention to children with autism. That experience was life-changing and became the foundation of my career.
I later worked within Quebec’s public healthcare system, including at Miriam Home and Services, supporting children and adolescents from birth to age 18 with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Over the years, my work has included supporting children one-on-one, coaching families, collaborating with educators and multidisciplinary professionals, and developing practical strategies for home, daycare and community settings.
As both a professional and a mother, I truly believe in the power of play. My approach brings together professional knowledge, practical guidance and genuine compassion while helping families build realistic strategies that fit naturally into everyday life.
How We Support Families
Today, Luna provides personalized respite care, intervention services, daycare integration support, purposeful play coaching and customized visual and learning supports. We also mentor Special Care Counsellors as they strengthen their professional skills and build practices of their own.
